Here you get to know this district much better!

Rio Tavares has grown very much during the last years. People that have moved to Florianópolis for living purposes and did not find an appropriate Real Estate in the area of Lagoa da Conceição, started to search a plot of land in Rio Tavares or in Campeche in order to build there a house. As these districts developed themselves to living areas, there were necessities for: a covered market, restaurants and other shops. Therefore the district was growing from a commercial point of view as well. Furthermore other settlements could be observed: an outpatient department, a public school, a supermarket, bakeries, pizzerias and commerce in general.

Beach: the beach of

Rio Tavares is located between the famous beach Joaquina and original Campeche. These areas have to be pointed out:·    

Meio da Joaquina: lonely beach, very well suited for those who are looking for a quiet place.·    

Novo Campeche: offers a spacious parking place that belongs to the living area which has got the same name. There is a place of rescuer, but it is not always busy.·    

Bar do Seu Chico: here you find the bar of the most famous fisherman of the region. This is an ideal place to meet some of your friends.·

Riozinho: Nowadays known by everybody. Since the summer of 2007 it is also an alternative place for those groups that were used to go regularly to Praia Mole. Riozinho is well suited for classic surfing, but nowadays you will find more kite-surfers there.·          

Campeche: Classical surfing, it is located directly opposite the island which has got the same name.
